Artists' Alley Manager
The Artists' Alley Manager at Providence Anime Conference is the person primarily responsible for overseeing the organization and operation of the artists' alley at the conference. They will be responsible for determining the rules for the artists' alley and communicating those rules to artists. The Artists' Alley Manager is also responsible for handling all sign-ups for space in artists' alley and the organization of the artists' alley within the allotted space at the facility. In some cases, guests of the conference may request space in the artists' alley and the Artists' Alley Manager is responsible for working with Guest Relations. During the conference, the Artists' Alley Manager is responsible for overseeing the artists' alley and ensuring that all participants follow the rules of the artists' alley as well as the rules of the conference.
Responsibilities
- Writing and revising artists' alley rules and procedures as necessary.
- Determining an artists' alley floor plan within the allotted space.
- Accepting artists' alley sign-ups and assigning space.
- Overseeing the operation of artists' alley at the conference.
- Working with Guest Relations to arrange space for certain guests.
- Communicating with the Director of Programming and providing regular status reports.
Qualifications
- Experience working with artists and running an artists' alley a definite plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Must reply to e-mail and forum posts in a timely manner.
Additional Requirements
- All staff are required to help with the post-con pack-up after the conference ends on Sunday unless they are pre-approved to leave early at time of hire.
- All staff must be at least 21 years of age as of the first day of the conference.
- All staff are expected to follow the Staff Policies.
Compensation
All Providence Anime Conference staff will receive:
- free admission to Providence Anime Conference,
- one free Providence Anime Conference shirt,
- hotel accommodations (with 3 other staff) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights,
- meals on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
- access to the private staff suite for rest and relaxation during off-duty hours, and
- access to the private staff forums.
All staff positions are unpaid, but you can put this on your resume.
