Providence Anime Conference Rules of Conduct

1. All members are at their own risk with respect to the dangers incidental to Providence Anime Conference, including personal injury. Acceptance of your membership constitutes consent to the use of the wearer's image or likeness in any recording, transmission, or reproduction of Providence Anime Conference and consent to ejection without refund for inappropriate behavior or failure to comply with the Providence Anime Conference Rules of Conduct.
2. Please be kind and courteous to your fellow members, guests, dealers, and staff at all times. Disruptive behavior is not allowed. This includes running, screaming, yelling, horseplay, unsolicited physical contact, or any other such behavior as deemed disruptive by conference staff.
3. All members are expected to behave in a reasonable, mature, and polite manner to any parties that may not be participating in the conference but are sharing facility space. (Let's try not to terrify others that are not as familiar with the same level of the anime/manga fan culture as we are.)
4. Please treat the convention facilities with respect. The Rhode Island Convention Center and The Westin Providence are wonderful facilities and we would like to keep them that way. Anyone who defaces or damages hotel, convention center, or Providence Anime Conference property will be responsible for repair or replacement.
5. Please keep the hallways and aisles clear and do not obstruct the flow of traffic.
6. Smoking and drugs are prohibited in the convention center. Refer to the Drug and Alcohol Policy for more information.
7. Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters, "wheelies", and bicycles are prohibited in the convention center and in the hotel.
8. Offensive and/or revealing attire is prohibited. Please refrain from wearing clothing (including costumes) that would be inappropriate in public.
9. Providence Anime Conference prohibits all hand-held signs. Exceptions may be made if it can be proved that a sign is part of a costume, such as a screen capture from the show with the text on the sign. (Photoshop edits do not count.)
10. The New England Anime Society, Inc., Providence Anime Conference, the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Rhode Island Convention Center, and The Westin Providence are not liable for any missing belongings. Please keep a close eye on your items. If you should lose something please contact conference security.
11. Do not leave your bags unattended! Any bag left unattended will be turned over to the appropriate authorities. This may include the Rhode Island Convention Center, The Westin Providence, the Providence Police, the Providence Fire Department, and/or the Rhode Island State Police.
12. Due to the relatively close quarters of the Dealers' Room, Providence Anime Conference encourages people to leave bags and backpacks in their hotel room or car. In the interest of safety, any bookbags, briefcases, suitcases, cosplay accessories, or other items deemed unwieldy by the security staff may be temporary confiscated by security.
13. Remember that The Westin Providence is a hotel. As such it is customary to tip the employees if they perform a service for you. (Especially the bellhops and the room service staff.) Customary tipping procedure is 20% of the total amount. However, please remember that tipping is based upon good service. If at any point a hotel employee is rude or antagonistic towards you, please inform Conference Services.
14. Function rooms have a limited amount of space. Due to this fact it may become necessary to wait in line prior to gaining entry into some events or areas. Please be patient and understanding with us. We will do our best to accommodate as many people as we can as quickly as possible.
15. Disabled persons, staff, on-duty support team members, press, and guests of honor are not required to stand in line for entry into any event room. If you have any questions, please contact Providence Anime Conference security.
16. Shoplifting is a crime. It is not tolerated and violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Shoplifters will have their badge revoked without refund, be removed from the conference and may possibly be banned from attending both Providence Anime Conference and Anime Boston in the future.
17. Providence Anime Conference staff reserve the right to revoke your membership and eject anyone at any time from the conference without a refund.
18. Please follow the directions of the Providence Anime Conference staff. They are there to make your experience more enjoyable, not to hinder or hurt you. Anyone who refuses to comply with any reasonable requests asked by any member of Providence Anime Conference staff or the facility's staff or security will be subject to removal from the conference without refund.
